A high-rise block of flats was evacuated last night after a fourth floor home was destroyed.
Thirty firefighters attended a Winchester street at midnight after a fire in the lounge, of a flat.
Crews from the city joined Redbridge, Eastleigh, Alresford and St Mary's in tackling the fire on Winnall Manor Road that saw the entire block evacuated.
The fire began in the lounge of the flat at midnight, with crews spending two-and-a-half hours getting the blaze under control.
Hampshire Fire and Rescue say an investigation is now underway, with the cause currently unknown.
