A MOTORCYCLIST has been rushed to hospital after a serious collision on a major Hampshire route.
Police were called to the B3354 Main Road in Twyford shortly after 2pm this afternoon (Tuesday) following a crash between the motorbike and a Ford Fiesta.
The male motorcyclist, who sustained serious injuries, has been rushed to Southampton General Hospital. No one else was injured.
The road reopened at around 5pm, nearly three hours later.
Earlier, a police spokesman said: "Officers are currently at the scene as investigations into the exact circumstances of the collision are ongoing. As a result the road is closed in both directions, at the junction with the B3335 Highbridge Road.
"We would like to apologise for any inconvenience. Officers are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened, so please get in touch if you think you can help."
