A TEAM of Alresford butchers are celebrating after an 11-award haul from this year’s Hampshire Sausage and Pie competition.

C.E. Evans and Son brought home the bacon in style, claiming the ‘Champion Speciality Sausage’ award for their pork stilton and watercress variety using local ingredients.

There were also three golds and two silvers for their sausages, and gold for their faggots.

In the pie category the team also had success, winning three golds and a silver were collected for their creations, bring the total to eight golds and three silvers from their 11 entries.

A spokesman for C.E. Evans and Son said: “Evans is proving that your local butcher in West Street, Alresford, really has got the lot!

“Maybe next year we will include fish from our fresh counter.

“Come and sample the award-winning produce in our shop. Pies are cooked fresh daily.”
