COUNTY council chiefs have backed proposals for a third runway at Heathrow Airport
Members from across the county added their support for the motion, proposed by Hampshire County Council executive member Rob Humby and council leader Roy Perry.
Council members backed a motion by the two council chiefs which said: “This council welcomes proposals for the third runway at Heathrow and encourages the government to invest further in transport infrastructure in the south east. This includes rail access to Heathrow to maximise the benefits of international gateways which support wider economic prosperity in the UK.”
A vote on the government’s approval to expand the airport with the £14.3bn runway is expected this summer.
