PARAMEDICS have praised helpful residents who cleared snow to allow an ambulance to get moving.
The crews were able to transport stranded motorists who had got stuck on the A272, which travels between Winchester in the west to Petersfield in the east, thanks to one a resident who cleared snow in his tractor.
South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) tweeted: "Thank you to everyone for their efforts overnight and this morning. Especially Peter Payne from Alresford, who cleared 15 miles of snow in his tractor so our ambulance crew with stranded motorists on board could get off the A272 around midnight last night and into the warmth."
A Met Office yellow warning is still in place for snow and ice in Winchester today, with more snow expected.
According to forecasters, temperatures will struggle to get above -1C.
