ARCHAEOLOGIST Simon Roffey will be the next speaker at the Winchester Catholic History Group.

Dr Roffey, of Winchester University, has spent several years overseeing the excavations at the medieval leper hospital of St Mary Magdalen on farmland off Alresford Road.

Talks start at 7.30pm and lasts for approximately one hour with questions afterwards in the main lecture room at the Parish Centre next to St Peters Catholic Church on Jewry Street.

In September the group will move back to the renovated Milner Hall on St Peter Street.
