BOOMTOWN Fair have unveiled more than 200 artists set to perform at this year's festival.

Joining the previously announced alternative rock band Gorillaz will be South African trio Die Antwoord, rap-rockers Limp Bizket and three time Grammy Winner Ben Harper and The Innocent Criminals.

Also set to perform will be reggae star Jimmy Cliff, duo Amadou and Mariam, electronic band Morcheeba and anti-austerity punk duo Sleaford Mods.

The event, now in its tenth year, will run at Matterley Estate, east of Winchester, from August 9-12.

BoomTown organisers said: "Those in attendance can expect to be taken on a journey of live and electronic music around the UK underground, via global stars and grassroots talent from over 50 countries across the world.

"Those of any age, young and a little less young, first timers or Boomtown stalwarts, there is something for everyone."

As reported in the Chronicle, the festival had hoped to increase its capacity to 80,000 by 2019, with numbers expected to rise to 76,000 for the event this year.

But the original plans were shelved, with Winchester City Council's licensing committee approving plans to maintain the current limit at 59,999, with 5,000 additional staff, artists and their guests, as well as 1,000 more tickets for local residents.

Tickets and the full list of performers are online now.
