Southern Electric Premier Cricket League - Division 3.

Trojans (55 all out) lost to Andover (56-4).

Trojans went down to their eighth league defeat in a row when they lost by six wickets at Andover.

The visitors batted first and opened with the father and son combination of Mario and Hal Mohammed. However they lost Mario for 1 - his fourth score of 2 or less in a row.

When Hal Mohammed was bowled for 7 and Mike Durand bowled for 0 in the same Roger Miller over they found themselves 10 for 3. Simon Williams and Ed Boyd then added 16 runs but when Williams fell for 10, Boyd for 5 and John Higginson for 0, Trojans found themselves 27 for 6.

Chris Bixley and Chris Rochfort offered Trojans brief respite, but when Bixley was out for 12 which proved to be his team's top score and Rochfort who came into the team as wicketkeeper fell for 5, only Tim Felstead, with 6, added further runs to the score, as Trojans were all out for 55. For Andover Roger Miller (pictured right) took 5 wickets, Hadfield 2 and M Hooper 3.

When Andover batted Dan Williams retired hurt without a single run to his name, and Mario Mohammed bowled Jason Williams for 1. Hal Mohammed then claimed the wickets of Roger Miller for 11, C Hadfield for 7 and T Clarke for 8, but with so few runs to get the result never was in doubt, and with opener Ollie Williams finishing 19 not out they reached the target without further loss. For Trojans Tim Felstead bowled a lively 10 over spell in which he was accurate without taking any wickets.

Andover are one of the league's better teams and it was always going to be a tall order for Trojans who had three players making their first team debuts this season, and a further two who were not regulars.

Trojans took two bowling points, but will need to start picking up very quickly if they are going to give themselves a chance of avoiding the drop. On Saturday they are at home to Rowledge.
