Southern Electric Premier League Division 3.

Hambledon (214 all out) beat Hartley Wintney (184 all out).

Hambledon travelled to Hartley Wintney looking to get their season back on track. Having won the toss and elected to bat, Hambledon got off to a flying start posting 44 off ten overs, before James Scutt fell lbw to Carlton for 7.

Youngster Jack Lavous fell soon after, before a partnership of 30 between Simon Milenko (51) and Simon James (31) took the score to 83 when Milenko departed, caught in the deep.

Useful contributions by Dan Hewitt (35) and Nick Scutt (24) enabled Hambledon to close on 214 all out with Carlton (3-28) and Jolley (4-40) being the pick of the Hartley Wintney bowlers.

In reply Hartley Wintney were soon in trouble losing three quick wickets with Mackie Hobson (3-41) doing the early damage. Despite opener Norris (52) keeping Hartley Wintney in the hunt, the introduction of Dan Hewitt (5-16) into the attack saw Hartley Wintney fold to 184 all out.

2nd XI vs Esso Fawley 2nd XI Having lost the toss, Hambledon were asked to bat, and soon lost openers Indi Chakrabarti (10) and Chris Stone (12), with only 38 on the board.

A partnership of 30 between James de Mellow (29) and Mike de la Perelle (35) repaired the damage and Hambledon were set to post a decent total.

However, the departure of de la Perelle saw the middle order collapse and Hambledon slumped to 132 all out.

In reply, Fawley got off to a flying start before the dangerous John Doe (15) was run out with the score on 46.

Thanks to some very accurate medium pace bowling from James Restell (0-15) and Indi Chakrabarti (0-20) Hambledon were able to peg back the Fawley reply and at 89 for 5 off 32 overs were still very much in the hunt.

However, a partnership of 36 between Church (21no) and Hickman (19) enabled Fawley to get home with four wickets and seven balls to spare.
