DISABLED sailor Geoff Holt has resumed the latest leg of his attempt to sail solo around Great Britain.
Mr Holt, 41, from Shedfield, is paralysed from the chest down, but is aiming to be the first disabled person to sail solo around the coast of the UK.
Yesterday (Wednesday) he left Whitehills in North East Scotland after having to stay there for three days because of gale force winds.
However, he is once again travelling south, towards home.
In his online blog, Mr Holt said: "Mixed emotions today, it's time to leave Whitehills but we've got to take advantage of a weather window to make a dash for Peterhead."
As Mr Holt sails his three-hulled boat, Freethinker, he is followed on land by a back-up crew which includes his wife Elaine and five-year-old son Timothy.
His Personal Everest challenge has gained the support of Rotary clubs around the country and Mr Holt and his crew have been supported and accommodated by various Rotary members during his journey, since he set off from Hamble on Sunday, May 20.
