Alresford GC hosted the Hampshire Alliance of Professional and Amateur Golfers' summer meeting recently.
Nine Hampshire professionals and 27 amateurs competed in a fourball better ball 27-hole Stableford for the Hole Trophy. Last year's winners, Gary Stubbington, Hockley professional, and Corhampton amateur, Harry Spooner scored 58 points, but not enough needed to retain the trophy.
This time, Alresford pair, professional James Ablett and David Farr were worthy winners with 63 points. A close second with 62 points were Basingstoke's Ken Mason and club professional Ben Cummings.
In the Am-Am section, Army Golf Club's Geoff Hawkins and Alan Green scored a creditable 59 points placing them third overall in the competition.
