MUSIC promoter Rob Ball will once again be organising gigs as part of Oxjam, which raises money for the charity Oxfam.

The Winchester Massive Oxjam 2007 takes place between Monday October 8 and Sunday October 14.

This year Rob is looking for local businesses to sponsor event so he can beat the £400 he raised from the event last year and enable all the gigs to be free entry.

The first night of Oxjam '07, Rob says, will be a huge free gig at Winchester Guildhall featuring three of some of the city's most promising acts: Captain Phoenix, Loose Caboose and The Ashbies, and it will be a 14+ gig.

Rob said: "I am going to be approaching local businesses to sponsor me the initial capital of the festival, which means I will be able to make the events free, giving a wider range of music fans access and to generate more interest in Oxfam. There will also be collections to help raise money. I would hope that with the success of last year's event and my passion and confidence in this festival, I should be able to raise enough capital for this to happen."

The line up is as follows: Monday October 8: Captain Phoenix, Loose Caboose and The Ashbies at Winchester Guildhall.

Tuesday October 9: Hijera, Birdpen, The Scarlet Letter Union and Three Kings at The Railway Inn, St Paul's Hill.
