THIS year’s Winchester Cathedral Lantern Procession takes place this evening from 6pm in the Cathedral Outer Close.
It is a great event for all the family whether you participate or come as a spectator, fast becoming a much-lived Christmas tradition.
The procession of colourful handmade paper and willow lanterns will leave the Cathedral at 6pm and parade around the Outer Close.
The celebrations include live music, congregational carols led by Churches Together in Winchester and concludes with fireworks.
All are welcome but the cathedral asks that people register with the Cathedral Box Office. (01962 857275) if wishing to take part or see website: www.winchester-cathedral.org.uk.
So, if you want to see a floating Christmas pudding, or even less likely, a floating Christmas armadillo, head on down to the Cathedral Close.
