HAMPSHIRE Jews spruced up a tiny Winchester park as part of Mitzvah Day.

Mitzvah Day was held on November 19, a nationwide initiative of good deed and acts of kindness.

It is an integral part of Jewish life, and they say they have received great support from the wider community.

In Winchester the community have planted bulbs for the last four years in the Sir Leslie Scott Garden on The Weirs next to the River Itchen.

William Carver said: "The garden is now a place to visit particularly in spring, although the primroses we planted last year lasted throughout 2017 and we hope that those that we planted this year will do as well next year."
