THOUSANDS of tickets to a major music festival near Winchester next year have already been snapped up.

The tenth Boomtown Fair sold 15,500 tickets in a record-breaking two minutes.

Organisers of the festival at Matterley Estate said: “We’re throwing everything we’ve got at Chapter 10.

“Operationally, creatively and musically we’re planning the most spectacular experience and a culmination of everything we’ve been working towards and have taken on board ever since the Town’s creation back in 2008.”

Following the ticket launch where tiers one and two sold out, there are other ticket options available on the festival’s website, including the child, teen and added extra tickets.

Boomtown has also announced their charity partner for the 2018 as local youth charity Winnall Rock School, who provide free music lessons to young people aged 10 to 17 in neighbourhoods where there are higher than national average levels of social deprivation.

A total of £116,303 was raised for charity at the 2017 festival, with £32,000 going to charities and projects in the local area.

Boomtown teamed up with charities including Street Reach, Hampshire Air Ambulance, Trinity Winchester, Naomi House, and the South Downs National Park Trust.

Boomtown Fair 2018 will take place from August 9 to 12.
