HARRY Potter’s popular game will be making an appearance in Southampton today.

Millbrook Rugby Club will be hosting one of six Quidditch Premier League fixtures, to determine the strongest teams in the UK and set their ranks in the Quidditch Premier League Championship.

Eastern Mermaids, Southeast Knights, London Monarchs, and Southwest Broadside will play against each other in separate games to determine the winner.

The UK premier league sees eight teams with Four in the North Division and four in the South Division who play in a season lasting from June to August.

Jack Lennard, Director of the Quidditch Premier League said: “I’m so excited that the inaugural summer division of the QPL is coming to a climax.

"We have seen some amazing gameplay so far, and inspired so many people across the south.”

Inspired by J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series, Quidditch is a fast growing, full contact mixed gender sport with a strong focus on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender inclusivity, attracting players from a wide range of backgrounds.
