A DOG has been savaged to death today in an attack in Eastleigh.

Police were called to an incident involving three dogs in Bishopstoke Road, Eastleigh, shortly before 11.30am yesterday.

Officers found one of the dogs had died. The two other dogs have been secured.

Abbey Fender, 28, owned eight-year-old poodle Louis, which was left dead in the attack.

Abbey said: “I'm in utter shock at what has just happened, I can't believe it.

"My mother was walking Louis down the park, she came back to the house and as she was walking down to the house, two dogs came out of an unfenced garden and ripped him to shreds.

“The lead was ripped out of my mums hands, and she's going to have to live with that image for the rest of her life.”

There are unconfirmed reports that one of the dogs was a pit bull.

A police spokesman said: “Officers remain at the scene and investigations are ongoing.”
