A DRIVER caught over the alcohol limit in Winchester has been banned from the road for three years.
Ben Hunter, 37, was stopped by police on Easton Lane, Winnall, in a 16-reg vehicle.
Hunter, of Tidworth Garrison, Wiltshire, admitted drink driving committed on February 17, Basingstoke Magistrates Court heard.
The court was told his alcohol reading was 88 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath when the legal limit is 35, making him nearly three times the limit.
Hunter was disqualified for 36 months fined £500 with a £50 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
His ban will be cut by 36 weeks if he passes an approved department of transport course.
