COMMUNITY groups and businesses are being encouraged to do their bit to make the Winchester district a better place.
The city council is holding a two-day workshop to support the aims of the Winchester District Strategic Partnership.
The organisation brings together public and private sector groups and community organisations to work together for the common good.
It has already produced a strategy for the district with five aims, including improved health and economic prosperity.
The other three are having a high-quality environment, an inclusive society and freedom from fear.
The two-day workshop is designed to come up with practical ways to deliver these goals.
Council leader, George Beckett, said: "We have a vision for the district in place but we need everyone's help to achieve this.
"The action planning event is an opportunity for people to make a contribution to this and to play a part in making sure the Winchester district is a great place to live in the future."
The workshop takes place at Winchester Guildhall on Thursday and Friday, June 28 and 29. To attend, send an e-mail to rhiney@winchester.gov.uk or ring 01962 848100. To find out more about the strategic partnership, log onto www.wdsp.co.uk.
