A CLEANER had to be rescued after being stuck in a lift in Winchester today.
Firefighters were called to Danemark Court in Gordon Road, after the cleaner who was stuck in the lift on the ground floor alerted them to the situation and the alarm system in the lift was not working.
A crew from Winchester Fire Station arrived at around 12noon, they were followed by a crew from Eastleigh Fire Station.
The cleaner was rescued from the lift which was stuck on the ground floor thanks to firefighters who used a pry bar and a tyre lever to force the lift open.
Winchester Fire Station tweeted after the rescue: "We've just returned from a lift rescue in #Winchester with @Eastleigh32. Everyone out safe."
