A FIFTH inmate has died at Winchester Prison in three months.
The jail's spate of deaths continued on Monday after what is believed to have been a medical incident.
The Ministry of Justice declined to identify the deceased or release more details before next of kin were informed.
Staff have said morale has reached an "all time low" after the deaths of Haydn Burton, Daryl Hargrave, Jason Payne and Mohamed Emamy-Foroushani since mid-July.
A source told the Chronicle last month that a "them and us situation" between staff and senior management may have contributed to the deaths.
