A WINCHESTER graduate is hosting a special class to help raise funds for essential equipment to teach children the art of pottery.

Former Winchester School of Art graduate Donna Vokes will be welcoming children, parents and local artists alike to learn how to make bunting in order to raise money for an electric kiln.

Ms Vokes, founder of Atticatelier – a specialist company offering art workshops to people of all ages – hopes to raise £1,500 in order to pay for the new kiln as well as new tools, a street sign and additional equipment needed for screenprinting, costing around £340.

Staff at Tesco in Winnall have donated a number of DVDs, books and stationery – all of which have been put up as raffle prizes to be won on the day.

Ms Vokes will be at Molly’s Den on Saturday, September 5, from 12-5pm, along with the team from Toasted Cafe, who have helped to organise the event.

There will be a barbecue, live music, and a pop-up bar for the adults.
