AN extension to a home in Littleton has been approved by city planners despite objections from the parish council.
Ted Rodrigues reapplied for a single storey extension and development of the first storey to the property in Main Road.
The application was reported to the city council’s planning committee at the request of Littleton and Harestock Parish Council.
The agenda for the meeting heard two weeks ago said the parish council objected because the amended scheme did not overcome previous concerns.
It also said the proposed developed would dominate its immediate neighbours, is out of keeping with the surrounding area and adjoining properties and therefore contrary to the Littleton Village Design Statement.
There were also a further four letters of objection.
Planning officers recommended permission was granted and said: “The extension now proposed has been reduced in bulk, size and scale, in combination with the roof design which has been altered.”
