THREE Weeke Primary School children held a cake sale in aid of Wessex Cancer Trust yesterday.
Year 5 pupils Tegan Pettigrew, Rebecca Sykes and Connie Brush baked the treats at home and then sold them in the playground, raising £136.88.
“Everything is their idea,” said Tegan’s mother Naomi Pettigrew.
“They’re really young but they care enough to do this.
“The cakes took literally minutes to sell.
“It was brilliant – and now the girls are buzzing at their achievement.”
The money will be donated to the Wessex Cancer Trust shop in Stoney Lane, Winchester, which is close to the school.
