REFURBISHING play areas in Winchester is set to cost nearly £500,000 over the next five years.
The city council has drawn up a programme to revamp nine of Winchester's 24 areas, the town forum was told.
Cllr Chris Pines said it was vital to involve local children in choosing new equipment. Consultation has led to less vandalism in Winnall, he said.
Nine playgrounds to be revamped:
Stanmore recreation ground - £16,000 (2015/16)
Somers Close skate park, Stanmore - £80,000 (2015/16)
Stanmore outdoor gym - £20,000 (2015/16)
North Walls bowling green - £20,000 (2015/16)
North Walls - £120,000 (2016/17)
Winnall Manor Road, Winnall - £70,000 (2016/17)
Marnhull Rise - £25,000 (2017/18)
Gordon Avenue, Bar End - £80,000 (2018/19)
Teg Down Meads - £25,000 (2019/20)
