POLICE are warning shopkeepers to be on their guard after counterfeit £50 notes were handed over by two men in payment for goods at a Co-op store in North Baddesley.
Chewing gums and mints were bought by the men.
Forged notes were passed at several Co-op stores in the area the same day.
The incidents were reported to the police at the weekend.
