Santa Claus is coming to town.
Keep your eyes on the skies tonight (Friday) as Santa is due to touch down in Romsey’s town centre during the Chamber of Commerce’s annual late night shopping event.
He’s due to arrive in the Market Place before heading off to his grotto in Bradbeers.
He should be able to spot Romsey from his flying sleigh thanks to the 300-plus lanterns which will be gathering for a parade around the town from 5.30pm.
This year’s parade has a panto theme and there will be lanterns representing Aladdin, Cinderella, the Ugly Sisters, Puss in Boots and Jack and the Beanstalk amongst others.
The parade will be led by: Test Valley mayor Jan Lovell and Romsey Town mayor Peter Hurst.
They will be followed by members of Test Valley Brass and accompanied by the Mountbatten Community Choir.
Mountbatten School Band will be performing around the Civic Tree in the Market Place.
Motorists are reminded that road closures will be in operation around the town centre from soon after 5pm.
