Bishop’s Waltham Parish councillors gave their approval to two planning applications on Tuesday (Jan 13).
They were unanimous in their decision to make no comment or recommendations regarding plans for an extension to a listed Grade II building in Bank Street. The application was from MRS A Alldridge.
But they were split on the application of Mr and Mrs Holtom, of Field Farm, Dundridge Lane, who have applied for permission to demolish the rear of the farmhouse, replacing it with a two-storey extension.
They had objected to a previous application which it was felt would be detrimental to the appearance of the South Downs National Park. On the basis that the revised application was deemed suitable by Winchester City Council’s Historic Environment officers, three parish councillors voted in favour of making no further recommendations. There three abstentions and the proposal will go before Winchester City Council for consideration.
