A COMMUNITY group in Winchester has marked its tenth anniversary in the way it knows best.
Coffee Pop-Inn has been serving coffee and tea at St Marks Church, Oliver's Battery every week for ten years, and celebrated the landmark with a huge cake and refreshments.
The service was the brainchild of Pam Turner. Brenda and Dave Bartlett, and Joyce Harfield, have helped run it ever since.
On Thursday (NOV 21), Rev Mike Gardner was on hand to cut the first slice as residents enjoyed the refreshments.
Mrs Bartlett, 75, of Battery Hill, said: “We have dedicated ourselves to serve fair trade coffee, tea and biscuits to all who enjoy the companionship it affords.
“It was very enjoyable and the cake was delicious and beautifully decorated.”
Coffee Pop-Inn is on Thursdays at 10.30am at St Marks Church, Oliver's Battery.
