A SOUTH DOWNS photo competition is being judged by a special guest this year.
Alongside the panel, actor and comedian, Hugh Dennis, will be judging the entries for the competition which aims to look at ‘how people who love, live in, work in or visit the South Downs value and care for it.’ The competition closes at midday on October 15 and first prize is £250, second prize is £150 and third prize is £50.
Steve Watkins, editor of Outdoor Photography magazine, based in the South Downs National Park, said: “This is a challenging theme so I’m expecting to see a high level of images. It takes a very creative approach to capture an image which tells a human story.
“One of the critical things is to ensure the various elements of the story are all included in a single photo. You won't be there to tell the viewer the hiker in your photo is admiring his favourite valley that is just outside of the frame.”
