A DORSET-based forager is giving tips on finding free food in Britain’s hedgerows and along our seashores during a lecture at Ampfield’s Sir Harold Hillier Gardens.
One of Channel Four’s River Cottage series team, John Wright, will present the “Foraging Year” at the county council-owned gardens on February 28, at 11am.
John, who is the author of three foraging books, will be revealing how easy it is to find free food in the wild. He has his own website called wild-food.net which gives details of fungi foraging events he runs in the New Forest, Dorset and Devon.
The Hillier Gardens lecture includes a two- course lunch, coffee and admission to the grounds. It’s priced at £19.95.
