EDWARDS Anne Marie 1932 2023 Passed away peacefully on 3rd July at Northlands House, Southampton. Beloved wife of Capt. Mike Edwards, loving mother to Julie and Chris, grandmother to Richard, Robert & Michael, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Anne was a well-known writer & local broadcaster for over 40 years. She began in 1980 with her series on Radio Solent "New Forest Walks", and such was the demand for more, she was dubbed "Anne of a Thousand Walks". Her territory soon extended to include Thomas Hardy & Jane Austen country. Her book "Walking with William Shakespeare" was published in the USA when Anne began giving lecture tours there. Anne went on to publish many more books, and her passion and love of exploring our beautiful countryside shone out of every one of them. Anne's funeral service will be held at Christ Church, Colbury on Friday 28th July at 11:00am, followed by interment in the churchyard. Family flowers only please, but donations if desired can be made in her memory to Christ Church, Colbury by using anneedwards.muchloved.com or posting a cheque to the Funeral Director.
