Game Of Thrones star Nathalie Emmanuel and Iâm A Celebrityâs Emily Atack are among those to have paid tribute following the death of BBC child actress Mya-Lecia Naylor.
Naylor, known for appearing in shows including Millie Inbetween and Almost Never, died at the age of 16 on April 7, her representatives said.
Naylor also starred in CBBC show Almost Never and was described as âdeeply talentedâ by A&J Management.
Following news of her death, Emmanuel, who plays Missandei on Game Of Thrones, said she was âvery sad to hear the tragic newsâ, adding they were both managed by the same company.
She said: âAlthough I did not know her personally, I wanted to send my condolences to her family, friends and colleagues at this difficult time.â
Atack starred alongside Naylor on Almost Never. Writing on Instagram, she described the teenager as a âbeautiful girlâ.
She said: âSo shocked and sad to hear about lovely Mya-Lecia Naylor. She was a beautiful and talented girl. A complete joy to be around on the set of Almost Never. Sending all my love to her family & friends. Rest in peace beautiful girl x.â
Historian Greg Jenner said the news was âterribly sadâ while BBC TV presenter Tee Cee also paid tribute.
She said: âDeeply saddened by the passing of CBBC actress Mya-Lecia Naylor â although just 16, what a legacy sheâs left for CBBC fans all over the UK who watched and loved the TV shows she starred in. Rest in peace sweets.â
Paul Rose was a scriptwriter on Almost Never and described Naylorâs death as a âhuge lossâ.
He said: âFound out the heartbreaking news last week that Mya-Lecia Naylor has died.
âIâd been writing scripts for S2 of Almost Never since last year, all featuring Myaâs character. Far too young, and a huge loss for all on the show. My heart goes out to her family.â
Alice Webb, director of BBC Childrenâs which includes CBBC, said news of Naylorâs death had left her team âdistraught and so terribly sadâ.
She said: âShe has shone so brightly on our screens, both in Millie Inbetween and Almost Never, and itâs unthinkable that she wonât be part of our journey going forward.
âShe was hugely popular with our audience, a very talented actress, dancer and singer, and a real role model for her young fans.â
A statement posted to the BBCâs website described Naylor as a âhugely talented actress, singer and dancerâ.
It read: âWe are so sorry to have to tell you that Mya-Lecia, who you will know from Millie Inbetween and Almost Never has, very sadly, died.
âMya-Lecia was a much-loved part of the BBC Childrenâs family, and a hugely talented actress, singer and dancer.
âWe will miss her enormously and we are sure that you will want to join us in sending all our love to her family and friends.â
No cause of death has been revealed.
