Lucy Liu has revealed she is “in love” with her new baby son.
The Charlie’s Angels star shared a black and white photo of her cradling Rockwell Lloyd Liu on Twitter.
A spokesperson for the 46-year-old actress and artist told People that Rockwell was brought into the world through a gestational surrogate.
“I can confirm that Lucy Liu is the proud mother of Rockwell Lloyd Liu, brought into the world via gestational carrier,” the rep said, adding: “Mom and baby are healthy and happy.”
A gestational carrier helps a parent who cannot carry the pregnancy for herself, and is implanted with an embryo created by in vitro fertilisation (IVF).
Lucy, who plays Joan Watson opposite Jonny Lee Miller as Sherlock Holmes in Elementary, has kept her love life under wraps.
Best known for playing one of the feisty heroines alongside Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz in the Charlie’s Angels films and starring in Ally McBeal, the actress has been focusing on work behind the cameras, having directed an episode of action drama Graceland.
