MASKERS Theatre brings one of Shakespeare's best-loved comedies, Twelfth Night, to a new outdoor venue in Southampton next month.
Townhill Park House, the home of The Gregg School, will play host to the production from July 16 to 20.
The play will be fusing the flamboyant fashion and music of the 1980s along with Shakespeare’s original prose and verse.
The plot centres on the twins Viola and Sebastian, who are separated in a shipwreck. Viola (who is disguised as Cesario) falls in love with Duke Orsino, who in turn is in love with the Countess Olivia. Upon meeting Viola, Countess Olivia falls in love with her, thinking she is a man.
This tale of cross dressing, mistaken identity, musical interludes and riotous subplots, is guaranteed to tickle your funny bone.
Audiences are encouraged to relax and enjoy a picnic in the leafy gardens.
Tickets, from £12, are available from maskers.org.uk or 0333 666 3366
