SOUTHAMPTON concert hall the Turner Sims is running its first season of family concerts, starting on Sunday, October 29. These hour-long concerts are the perfect way to introduce children to the exciting world of music that this great venue has to offer. Children can have a go at singing opera, join a cowardly knight on the hunt for a hungry dragon or have some drumming fun with a dynamic percussion duo.

On October 29 at 3pm Hatstand Opera's Well Wicked Opera offers an hour of sublime music, mayhem and some very strange noises. The performance combines entertaining exercises with mini-extracts from opera sung by Hatstand's professional singers. It will be very noisy, highly informative and great fun.

On Sunday, November 26, at 3pm The Rumbustious Tale of Sir Goward the Coward and The Feasty Beasty is a dramatic story of Old England, with singing and dancing.

Dynamic percussion duo Drum Blondes offer an exciting musical adventure on Sunday, January 21, at 3pm. Their concert features music from the last 300 years (from Bach and Handel to Ravel and Steve Reich) performed on a vast array of instruments, from marimbas to dustbins.
