European Arts Theatre Company will bring an adaptation of a highly autobiographical novel by Oscar Wilde to the stage this month.
The Picture of Dorian Gray will be on at The Tower on Thursday 27 March at 7.30pm.
The story follows a handsome young man named Dorian Gray, the subject of a painting by artist Basil Hallward, who is greatly impressed by Dorian's physical beauty.
After meeting Lord Henry Wotton, Dorian becomes convinced that the only thing worth pursuing in life is beauty and pleasure.
Realising that one day his beauty will fade, Dorian wishes that his portrait would age rather than himself.
When his wish comes true, Dorian lives exactly as he pleases and only his portrait portrays the terrible effects that his way of life has on his soul.
European Arts present the wickedly witty story of Dorian Gray using only those objects found within an artist's studio.
Picture frames, plinths, paint pots, brushes, dust sheets, stepladders and trestles are put to ingenious use to create the world of Dorian Gray and Victorian London.
