  • Bedrooms: 3
A character 3 bedroom converted granary set within a small courtyard complex of restored farmhouses and outbuildings in a delightful, unspoilt country location not far from the centre of a popular Dorset village.

The Old Granary is believed to date back to the 1600s and has stone and tile hung upper elevations under a tiled floor. Converted in the 1980s, the barns and outbuildings form a small, exclusive, attractive courtyard development with stunning rural views, approached off a pretty, no through' lane. The village centre is close by, providing a range of shops (including a Tesco Express store) a historic Saxon church, First and Middle Schools, a doctors' surgery and 2 country pubs. There is good road access to the county town of Dorchester, the market towns of Blandford Forum and Wimborne Minster, and the coastal town of Poole (which has a mainline rail link to London Waterloo).

The Old Granary is presented in excellent decorative order and has mains electricity, gas and water, private drainage, gas central heating and UPVC double glazing. A lower reception hall leads to bedroom 2, which has built-in wardrobes. Stairs lead up to a first floor hallway and a dual aspect lounge with double glazed French doors to a sun balcony with south westerly views over open countryside. The modern kitchen/breakfast room has oak-fronted units, integrated gas hob, extractor hood, electric double oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, space for table and chairs, and a built-in cupboard containing a Vaillant combination gas boiler (fitted about 6 years ago). Bedroom 1 is a spacious double, and bedroom 3, which is currently used as a dressing room, has built-in, mirrored wardrobes. The fully tiled shower room was refurbished 2 years ago, and has a corner shower, a WC and a wash basin. There are 2 integral garages, both of which have up-and-over doors, and to the rear of one there is a utility area with plumbing for washing machine, lighting, power points and water tap.

There is residents' and visitors' parking. Below the balcony, The Old Granary has a small outdoor seating area with artificial grass. There is a gravelled shared access with turning area.

From Wimborne, proceed west along the A31 to the Roundhouse roundabout at Sturminster Marshall. Take the first exit onto the A350 towards Poole. On reaching the staggered crossroads (with a car sales business on the left), turn right, signposted to Lytchett Matravers, and proceed along Wimborne Road. On entering the village, turn right into Castle Farm Road. After the allotments, turn left into Loop Farm Road and proceed down the hill. At the crossroads, take a right turn into the approach to the courtyard. Visitors' parking can be found immediately on the left hand side.
