FOR those looking to buy a place in the scenic Hampshire countryside, Hursley is still proving popular.
Alex Lambourne, of Winchester-based Belgarum estate agents, said young professionals, families and senior citizens alike favoured the village.
He said: “The one thing that it’s got over many other villages is that it has a real sense of community that lacks in some other communities.
“It’s one of the few quintessential villages left that still has a pub, church, school, stores and a butcher’s shop.”
He added that prices in Hursley ranged from £250,000 to £2,500,000 depending on the property.
A typical three-bedroom cottage in Main Road would fetch £300,000, compared to £325,000 to £350,000 at the peak of the property market in 2007.
