A303 TRUNK ROAD - PARKHOUSE AND BULLINGTON
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the A303 Trunk Road in the County of Hampshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order would be to authorise:-
1) the overnight closure of;
a) the roads leading to and from the eastbound carriageway of the A303 at Parkhouse Cross Interchange (A338); and
b) the roads connecting to and from the westbound carriageway of the A303 from and to the A30 link at Bullington Cross (A34); and
2) the 24-hour closure of the lay-by adjacent to the westbound carriageway of the A303 between points 10 metres and 250 metres west of the centreline of Upper Norton Farm Junction.
These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake resurfacing/anti-skid surfacing, road marking, stud renewal and all associated works. It is expected that the work would last for approximately 3 days starting on or after Tuesday 1st September 2020. The overnight closures would take place between 21:00 and 06:00 (maximum period). The Order would come into force on 30 August 2020 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.
Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted to the next junction on the A303 as appropriate and return. The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
