TUBBS Ann Peacefully on 2nd January 2020, aged 83. Much loved wife of the late Philip, mother of Chris, step-mother to Nicola, Jacqui, Pip and Pennie. She will be very sadly missed by her whole family and many friends. Funeral service in The Chesil Suite, Chesil House on Wednesday 29th January at 11.00 am. No flowers please, donations to 'The Alzheimer's Society' or 'British Heart Foundation' c/o Richard Steel & Partners, Alderman House, 12-14 City Road, Winchester SO23 8SD

I worked as a Staff Nurse at Basingstoke hospital with Ann in the 1980s. She was the ward sister who I endeavoured to model my own nursing on - I learnt so much from her. She was compassionate, calm and considered, with a lovely sense of humour. I had always thought that her kind and reassuring smile was one that, as a patient, I'd like to wake up to after an operation. A beautiful woman
