Kendal has it's mint cake, Cornwall has pasties and you can't pass through Devon without a good cream tea.

But when it comes to Hampshire, it doesn't seem like we're responsible for upholding any prized national dishes at all. As a county we're nationally acclaimed for our wealth of local food companies and our wonderfully popular farmers markets, but which one food do we hold nearest to our heart?

Rather hidden away, Alresford is the national home to Watercress, but what about us Winchester folk?

We have many different food companies on our doorsteps flogging their wares through many delightful delicatessens, but I'd like to see a competition being held to find the 'Food of Winchester', whatever that may be.
