The England and Wales Cricket Board have awarded Somerset's Jos Buttler an England incremental contract for 2011-12.

The wicketkeeper-batsman qualifies for the award after playing nine Twenty20s and one 50-over international in the contract year.

Friday's World T20 opener against Afghanistan was the last of those games, with the appearance taking him to the 20 points needed for an award.

"This award reflects the contribution Jos has made this year in the shorter formats of the game for England and we congratulate him on his achievement," said national selector Geoff Miller.

Non-contracted players are awarded five points for a Test appearance and two for a limited-overs one.
