A 31-year-old woman has died after being found slumped unconscious in a toilet at a music festival.
Security staff and medics discovered the woman in the lavatory at Boomtown fair near Winchester at 1.50pm yesterday, Hampshire Police said.
The festival-goer was taken to hospital in Winchester, where doctors battled to save her life. But she was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival.
The toilet block was cordoned off as officers investigated the scene at the festival, held at Matterley Estate.
Her death is not believed to be suspicious at this time.
A statement from Hampshire Police said: " It is too early to speculate on cause of death, and a post-mortem examination will be conducted in due course to help determine this.
"Police are providing support to her family including her husband, who was at the festival with her."
Last year Ellie Rowe, 18, from Glastonbury in Somerset, died at the festival after taking the horse tranquilliser ketamine.
A spokeswoman for the festival said: "BoomTown fair would like to express their sincerest condolences to the family of the young woman who was found unconscious on site but despite the efforts of all our staff involved she was later pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Winchester hospital.
"Our thoughts are with all her loved ones at this tragic time and the festival is doing all it can to assist those involved."
