He is the man behind the world's best restaurant who famously serves up moss and ants to his diners. Now Rene Redzepi is taking snow to a desert island.
The Danish chef is the guest on BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs today, and told host Kirsty Young he would miss the Scandinavian wintry weather if he was washed up in the tropics.
Asked about his luxury item, he admitted it was a "difficult choice" and said he considered taking a sun-powered coffee machine.
He said: "T hen I thought 'No, I need something that also reminds me of home' so I think I'm actually going to choose one full day of snow."
His restaurant, Noma in the Danish capital Copenhagen, was named the best in the world this year for the fourth time and has two Michelin stars.
Its menu includes p ickled and smoked quails' eggs and c aramelised milk and cod liver.
Redzepi's musical choices included Run DMC's It's Like That, Phantom Of The Opera by Iron Maiden and Under Pressure by Queen and David Bowie.
