UK enjoys warm day but rain on way
Large parts of Britain were enjoying another warm, dry day today - but rain will be arriving over Easter, forecasters have warned.
Many areas will see temperatures around 16 or 17C (61 or 63F) today as the spell of sunny spring weather continues.
However cooler, cloudy conditions will move across much of the country tomorrow from the north, leaving only the south east with similar readings.
Tom Tobler, a forecaster with MeteoGroup, said: "Everywhere from the Midlands north will be cooler tomorrow than today.
"On Friday it will be generally fine, though it will be feeling cooler than it has been, and Saturday will be a similar story, so the start of the Easter weekend is looking pretty good.
"However the picture changes on Sunday, when an easterly wind is expected to bring some potentially heavy rain across much of the country. There will be some rain around on Easter Monday as well, but Sunday is expected to be the worse of the two days."
The spell of pleasant weather began on April 9 - though the warmest temperature recorded in the UK so far this year was a week before that, on April 2 - 21C (70F) at Frittenden, Kent.
