Harry to attend emergency aid event
Prince Harry will attend a reception tonight celebrating the work of a humanitarian emergency response organisation.
Harry is patron of MapAction which is staging the event to highlight its efforts in disaster areas around the globe.
MapAction, which is based near High Wycombe, produces maps highlighting not the geography of an area but where need is greatest and the locations for vital humanitarian aid.
The organisation has successfully deployed to 41 emergency missions since its service was launched in 2002, helping millions of people affected by disaster.
Invited to the drinks reception at the Royal Society in central London are potential MapAction donors and existing financial supporters and helpers.
Liz Hughes, the organisation's chief executive, said: "We are grateful to Prince Harry for the generosity displayed through his ongoing commitment to MapAction's work.
"Unique events such as this reception offer the perfect opportunity to attract new donors and further engage long-term support for the organisation's future.
"It also allows us to express our thanks to all those involved with helping reach people in their urgent time of need."
