Two men have been stabbed and two arrested following an incident outside a college, police have said.

West Midlands Police said two men have been taken to hospital following the incident outside the Hall Green campus of South & City College in Birmingham.

The extent of their injuries is not yet known, a force spokesman said.

Emergency services were called at 2.05pm and police officers remain at the scene.

In a statement, West Midlands Police said: "Police are currently at the scene of a disorder outside the Hall Green campus of South & City College on Cole Bank Road.

"Emergency services were called at around 2.05pm today.

"Two men have suffered stab wounds and have been taken to hospital. The extent of their injuries is not yet known.

"Two men have been arrested."

A spokeswoman for South & City College Birmingham confirmed that none of its staff or students were involved in the incident.

She said the incident had taken place in a public garden and not in the grounds of the college.
