A 71-year-old woman has died after she is believed to have been mauled by dogs that she had gone to feed.

Police were called to a house in Morden, south London, at around 6.25pm on Tuesday where she was found dead with multiple injuries.

They have seized five dogs including two Bordeaux bulldogs, two American bulldogs and a mongrel from the property in Rutland Drive.

None of the animals are banned breeds, Scotland Yard said, and no arrests have been made.

A spokeswoman said: "She had sustained a number of injuries. An investigation is under way to establish a cause of death."

A post-mortem examination will be carried out tomorrow at St George's Hospital in Tooting, south London.

According to reports, the woman went to feed pet dogs belonging to her daughter when she died.
