Collins: Relationship absolute hell
Justin Lee Collins has said his seven-month relationship with Anna Larke was "absolute hell".
The 38-year-old comedian is accused of harassing his ex-girlfriend at his trial for domestic and emotional abuse.
Collins told St Albans Crown Court: "I thought she loved me and was crazy about me. But it turned out only the second part was true."
He said Larke repeatedly told him to dump her, revealing she frequently phoned him with the "mantra": "There are things you don't know about me, there are things you don't know about me, there are things you don't know about, you need to dump me, you need to dump me."
Collins is alleged to have made Ms Larke, a recovering alcoholic, write down in a Pukka pad all her previous sexual encounters. The star said making the sex list was her idea as cathartic, therapeutic and to "unburden herself".
He denied claims from her that he "has a problem with people of colour". In the surreptitious recording he refers to Ms Larke as having sex with "blacks" and "chinks".
Under cross-examination he denied being a racist.
Collins, who featured at No 37 on the Pukka pad of lovers, had circled "black guy" on the list and written "Anna's Types" spelling out a range of ethnicities and ages of men she liked.
"That's a joke," he said. Collins added that the recording showed him at his "absolute worst" and if he was racist his language would have been "far more colourful", he said.
Collins was also asked about a vest top Ms Larke said he ripped when he assaulted her once. The top, which has been shown to the jury, was "slightly torn during an episode of love play", the entertainer said.
